HOW TO DRY HERBS

how to dry herbs
Here are some tips for drying herbs from your garden. These are best used for cooking and healing.

Cover a kitchen bench or any similar wide surface with brown paper or lining paper. Wash the herbs and lay them out on the prepared table.

When hanging the herbs to dry, tie them around in smaller bunches. This will make them dry faster. In a dry room temperature above 18c, drying will take 4-6 weeks.

Oven dry your herbs in humid or rainy weather.

The herbs are completely dried when they are crisp, dry but not too brittle. Crumple them when they are dry and place in an airtight container out of sunlight.
